Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania Named Charitable Partner of the 2018 Pittsburgh Business Show

Junior Achievement

Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania, an organization that prepares young people for economic success and supports free enterprise, will again serve as the charitable partner of the Pittsburgh Business Show, a business-for-business trade show and networking event being held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center on April 25-26, 2018.

As the official charitable organization of the Pittsburgh Business Show, Junior Achievement will be supported through marketing efforts as well as awareness and financial means and campaigns.

The Pittsburgh Business Show will be presenting a check to the JA organization at an awards ceremony on the closing day of the show to help grow the next generation of entrepreneurs in our region. Two-day discounted show tickets are available, with ticket proceeds going to support JA’s mission, as well as an online and onsite silent auction, and they hope to meet their goal of $25,000 in generated funds.

This year’s Pittsburgh Business Show is a two-day event that includes more than 300 exhibitors and 30+ speakers and workshops including 80-plus industries, as well as numerous networking events for business owners, executives, and employees. This year, the agenda also features new events including the Business Choice Awards, Business Networking Café, and the Pittsburgh Business Pitch.

“The partnership between Junior Achievement and the Pittsburgh Business Show benefits us in our mission to develop future business leaders and cultivate our future workforce. For the past few years, the Show has actively promoted and supported our programs in the community. Last year alone, through sponsorships and onsite fundraisers, the Show raised over $2,500 in support for our programs. In recognition of their financial support and for the incredible amount of in-kind exposure JA received thanks to our partnership, the Show was awarded JA’s Bronze Leadership Circle Award at our Annual Meeting in June 2017. We look forward to working with the 2018 Pittsburgh Business Show as they continue to grow and connect Pittsburgh-area businesses,” said Bill Lucas, Junior Achievement’s Vice President of Development.

“The Pittsburgh Business Show is excited to support Junior Achievement of Western PA. JA is an organization that prepares the children of our communities for success through entrepreneurship, education, and financial literacy. We have like-minded goals and values, and I personally learned, during high school, the value that they bring to students by participating in one of their programs. Our goal is to increase awareness for volunteerism, their program in general, and to help support the education they provide with a financial donation. My hope is to have everyone know the answer to ‘Why JA?’”, said Linda Jo Thornberg, President of the Pittsburgh Business Show.

Two-day tickets for the Pittsburgh Business Show are available at www.PittsburghBusinessShow.com.
