President of the Pittsburgh Business Show Wins Empowering Women in Business Award

Linda Jo Thornberg, President of the Pittsburgh Business Show and Vice President of Corporate Communications and PR for Higher Images, won the Empowering Women in Business Award.

The 2nd Annual Empowering Women in Business Award ceremony was held June 15, 2018. Inspiring Lives Magazine, whose core mission and vision is to provide women with opportunities for networking, professional development, and personal growth, supports and inspires women to express themselves authentically through the work that they do while linking passion to purpose.

The Empowering Women in Business award is Inspiring Lives Magazine’s way of honoring and celebrating women in the business community who exude the core feminine values of connection, collaboration, inspiration, and motivation in their business and their lives.

“Winning the Empowering Women in Business Award means so much to me. It is such an honor to be recognized by such an amazing group of women. I am very blessed to have the support of my husband, my team, and the business community, and I’m excited about the things to come,” said Linda Jo.

Linda Jo has worked with and learned from some of the most respected professional women leaders and mentors in business. The life lessons and business skills she gained from them helped put her in a position of leadership where she could help build up teams, increase
brand awareness and reputation for organizations, and empower women in business across the country.

Raised in the Mon Valley area of Pittsburgh with a communication and leadership background from Edinboro University of PA, Linda Jo has a passion for helping businesses. Using her nearly 25 years of experience in sales and management, as well as running large-

scale events including trade shows, golf outings, and bridal shows, Thornberg was able to bring the Pittsburgh Business Show to life.

“While working with my clients, I found there was a need in the market to help businesses connect, be educated, and grow,” said Linda Jo. The Pittsburgh Business Show serves to create lasting partnerships to help businesses grow throughout the year and is making its mark as one of the largest B4B shows in the northeast United States.

At Higher Images, Linda Jo works with her clients to help increase their brand awareness and reputation using her expertise in marketing and communications to help businesses succeed. Supporting businesses for over 17 years, Higher Images provides local, regional, and national businesses with direct results on their marketing campaigns, including traditional and digital tactics incorporating their one-of-a-kind Digital HI Technology.

“Collectively, our goal is to help support local businesses with their brand awareness and reputation by finding out what their goals are and working towards them with the support of our tools and our expertise in marketing,” Linda Jo said.

Dr. Shellie Hipsky, Editor in Chief at Inspiring Lives Magazine, said she has personally worked with Linda Jo through the Pittsburgh Business Show and their partnership with Higher Images. “I’ve seen her lead with grace and strength. She values the people she is in charge of and her clients,” said Dr. Shellie.

As an entrepreneur and philanthropist herself, Dr. Shellie said this award is her way of giving back and celebrating the women who are working so hard and are doing so well for their companies and nonprofits. Dr. Shellie said Linda Jo was nominated for this award and was then chosen by a committee of experts at Inspiring Lives Magazine. “I enjoy her upbeat personality and business savvy,” said Dr. Shellie.
