Pittsburgh, PA – The Pittsburgh Business Show was awarded the bronze Junior Achievement Leadership Circle Award during the organization’s 78th Annual Meeting, recently held at the Westin Hotel and Convention Center.
The Leadership Circle Award is presented to a corporation, organization, or individual based on their combined contributions of financial support and in-kind contributions. These contributions are then used to fulfill Junior Achievement’s mission of empowering young people.
The Pittsburgh Business Show, the largest business-to-business expo in the region, welcomed Junior Achievement of Western PA as the charity partner for the 2017 Show, held in April at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The Show promoted and supported several Junior Achievement campaigns and held a casino night fundraiser during the Show to generate funds. At the close of the Show, President Linda Jo Thornberg presented a check to Dennis Gilfoyle, the President and CEO of Junior Achievement of Western PA, with collected contributions totaling $2,500.
“The Pittsburgh Business Show is honored to be recognized by Junior Achievement of Western PA. We partnered with JA of Western PA because of our shared vision of growing, supporting, and connecting Pittsburgh-area businesses. We know that young people are going to power the next generation of business ideas and advances. JA prepares young people for economic success and supports free enterprise, helping them learn how to start and lead their own businesses,” said Thornberg.
Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices. JA reaches more than 67,000 students in western PA.
The 2018 Pittsburgh Business Show will be held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in April 2018. Businesses that are interested in becoming sponsors or exhibitors can learn more at www.PittsburghBusinessShow.com or by contacting Linda Jo Thornberg at 412-668-4990.
