With the heightened attention around sexual assault, violence against women and the #metoo movement, one brave woman turned her personal tragedy into a global movement to help others and launched a new business venture along the way.
Darieth Chisolm is a former Channel 11 news anchor, Emmy Award winning TV host, author, speaker and business coach can now add filmmaker and activist to her list of accomplishments.
Darieth is a recent survivor of cyber sexual assault, sometimes referred to as revenge porn, after an ex-boyfriend created a website with nude pictures and videos of Darieth that he took while she was asleep. The ongoing cyber harassment and assault left Darieth ashamed, embarrassed and humiliated. But instead of remaining silent, Darieth began speaking out and launched 50 Shades of Silence a social justice project to educate on the issues of cyber assault, advocate for tougher laws and empower victims.
“My featured presentation for the Pittsburgh Business Show, Everyday Courage: Your Plan for Reinvention, focuses on how I turned this personal tragedy into a global movement to help others and launched a new business venture along the way,” stated Darieth. “We have all faced challenging circumstances and with Everyday Courage we can overcome them, reinvent ourselves and thrive, one day at a time.”
